Propane

We know that today's consumer is more demanding than ever when it comes to the comfort and efficiency provided by their homes. Today, millions of Americans have turned to the use propane for residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and transportation needs. There are many reasons why Comfort King customers are now converting to propane as their energy source:

Environmentally friendly-Propane gas easily meets the clean air energy standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency. It is also nontoxic and insoluble in water. Because it is released as a gas, it doesn't spill, pool, or leave a residue.

Versatility - Propane can be used for a wide range of residential applications including central heating, cooking, drying clothes, outdoor grilling, water heating, pool and spa heating and to power generators. In addition, propane fireplaces and hearth products can provide space heating solutions. And even when the power's out, many propane-fueled homes are nice and warm. The more you learn about propane, the more you'll warm to the idea of using it in your new home.

Reliability - Almost 90 percent of all propane is produced right here in the United States.  Comfort King Energy Services maintains a reserve of propane for all of our customers.

Efficiency - Propane costs less and works harder. Propane appliances have a shorter energy savings payback period and burn hotter and more evenly than many other fuels. Propane tanks can be stored above or below ground. They are environmentally-friendly, require little maintenance and can last up to 40 years.

Safety - Propane gas is an exceptionally safe fuel. It emits less carbon dioxide than any other liquid fuel, is clean-burning, non-toxic and generates the lowest emissions of greenhouse gases. Propane has quite a remarkable safety record, due in large part to the stringent codes and regulations developed by the propane industry and has built-in safety properties, including:

  • Propane won't ignite when combined with air unless the source of ignition reaches at least 940 degrees F.
  • Propane gas is nontoxic and produces minimal emissions.
  • Propane is not harmful to soil or water.
  • Because propane in its natural state is odorless and colorless, a commercial odorant is added to propane so it may be detected if it leaks into the environment.
